Jean-Pierre Jouyet  is a French politician and chairman of the Autorité des marchés financiers of France.

He worked nearly two decades for the French government.

From 1991 to 1995, Jean-Pierre Jouyet took part in the work of the European Union, in his last year of that period in the role of chief of staff to Jacques Delors, president of the European Commission.

After working as deputy chief of staff to Prime Minister Lionel Jospin from 1997 to 2000, and a four-year spell as head of the French Treasury, he became the president of the Paris Club.

In December 2008, he was appointed as chairman of Autorité des marchés financiers of France.

The Autorité des Marchés Financiers (in English Financial Markets Authority) is the French name given to the stock market regulators in France, it is colloquially known as "le gendarme de la Bourse".

Last weekend, a French newspaper called "Liberation" organised an open forum.

During the debate, a well known Jean-Pierre Jouyet answered to a question with a surprising honest reply.

A very upset citizen part of the Larouche organisation stood up and asked him a real question about the banking oligarchy rules us all:

"When will the political power impose back the Glass-Steagall act and reform the international banking system?

Everybody knows that the policy of bailing them out is doomed to fail, tell us what is really going on behind the scene"!

Mr Jouyet replied without hesitation:

"Ho, everybody agree with that but the French big banks don't want that at all, they have build their strategy on the absence of regulations and I don't want to be assassinated monday morning"!
