Boeing 747 - Jumbo Jet
The Boeing 747, sometimes nicknamed the "Jumbo Jet" is among the world's most recognizable aircraft and was the first wide-body commercial airliner ever produced.
First flown commercially in 1970, it was the largest passenger aircraft in operational service in the world for almost forty years.
For the final assembly of the Boeing 747 Boeing had to construct the largest building in the world, at Everett Paine Field, near Seattle.
On 9 February 1969, the 747 flew for the first time.
